Toyota 86 Review

Toyota 86 Review

The new Toyota 86, a joint venture with toyota and subaru, which has gained massive publicity as two of the top japanese car manufacturers work together to create one of the, if not the best sports car under 50k, tilted by many as the "bargain" of the century.

The 86 has an aggressive yet elegant design, which evokes a reaction to the viewer when told of the starting price of just 29,990(Aus). Don't let the beauty of this car fool you though, it packs a punch with a 147kW horizontally-opposed naturally aspirated boxer engine that turns out 205Nm of torque. With a redline  just shy of 8000rpm this thing loves to be driven hard, though this does cause its low-rpm response to lack.

with an interior to match its aggressive stance you get a feel of sportiness while being hugged by the comfort of bucket seats. While the car feels spacious while sat in the front, flipping the seats forward will reveal a cramped back seat (the kids may need to loose the legs), but this can be expect as the car is advertised as a 2 + 2. The 86 handles like no other car on the road and will hug the corners perfectly with minimum body roll, due to it's low centre of gravity and sports suspension to match.
